Description
You are bidding on a NICE used example of a WW2 German Hitler Youth M1934 “Pony Fur” (Tornister) Marching Pack!
Based on the earlier Prussian Back Pack, this model was introduced in November 1934. Issued to all personnel, it saw use up to as late as 1944.
Made of tan colored Canvas, Cow Hide, and Leather this Tornister Backpack / Marching Pack is in GOOD condition for its age! It features brown leather straps and single pronged metal buckles. There is some very minor wear, as well as some fur missing, but nothing that affects the function or takes away from the overall appearance. All straps are present, and it has a very faint name hand-written on the leather (difficult to photograph). No major tears rips, or damage (leather buckles have stiffened somewhat). Two leather loops are missing from the front, and one of the shoulder straps has been replaced and modified. The RARE feature is that is still retains the ORIGINAL internal stiffener (this is normally missing). Smaller in size than the standard ARMY version (38cm x 30cm x 10cm), this YOUTH version is 33cm x 30cm x 6cm. An EXCELLENT addition to any collection or display!
