You are bidding on a NICE example of an UNFIRED WW2 German Red Signal Flare Cartridge! Used by all branches, this let out a red smoke trail.

Made of aluminum, this UN-FIRED Signal Flare is in EXCELLENT condition considering its age. Manufactured in 1944, it retains approx 75% original paint and finish, with NO damage! Some slight wear and marks, but nothing that detracts. Pilots would store these in the large pockets in the standard issue flight pants (see photo). It appears someone has added an extra amount of dealant to the top…though I am not sure why. A VERY NICE example, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
