Description
The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issued to personnel on a limited basis.
Made of brass and aluminum by ddx (Voiglander, Braunschweig), these 6 x 30 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition! The lens bodies retain about 95% of their original paint and finish, and the end piece fittings are 100% intact! The focus adjustments still function perfectly, however the view is a hazy (typical for this type), as you can see in the photo (would need to be cleaned for full clarity). The right side body is marked Dienstglas (Service Binoculars), 6×30, along with the serial number, “316728“. Though not marked “H/6400“, they do have a ranging scale. As they are in used condition, there are some slight marks and scratches throughout. Neck strap is a period replacement. An EXCELLENT example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
