WW2 German Waffen SS M44 Tarnung Feldbluse – M44 DOT / PEA PATTERN M44 CAMOUFLAGE FIELD BLOUSE – RARE!

You are bidding on a FANTASTIC and 100% ORIGINAL example of a WW2 German Waffen SS M44 Dot/Pea Pattern Camouflage Field Blouse!

In late 1936 and early 1937, SS camouflage clothing was issued to personnel of the SS-VT Standarte Deutschland for field testing and evaluation. The first items evaluated were the Quarter Shelters, Steel Helmet Covers, Face Masks, and Smocks. As the war continued, various items were produced in various camouflage patterns. Originally they were produced in time consuming manual screen printing, until the development of machine roller printing in 1940. By the end of the war, almost a dozen variations of camouflage patterns had been developed and used by the SS. The M44 Dot/Pea Pattern Field Blouse and Pants were introduced on March 1, 1944, and were designed to replace the Drill tunic and Camouflage Smock. Made for warmer climates, the early models of the M44 Dot Pattern Filed Blouse were manufactured from dual-sided, camouflage material with an HBT weave, featuring Shoulder Strap Retaining Loops, Buttons, and a factory applied Sleeve Eagle. By July 1944, the inclusion of the Shoulder Strap Retaining Loops, Buttons and the factory applied Sleeve Eagle were discontinued.

Made of a machine-printed Herring Bone Twill Weave, this Waffen SS M44 Field Blouse, in is EXCELLENT used condition! Featuring factory-applied Shoulder Strap Retaining Loops; Buttons; and a machine printed  Sleeve Eagle, this dates March 1944 and July 1944.  Colors are VERY vibrant, and consist of a mixture of  brown, tans, and greensl with a vertical, 5-button closure at the front. All pebbled buttons are original to this jacket, but some of the stitching is loose (does not detract). The machine-stitched Sleeve Eagle is also original to the jacket. The Shoulder Straps are 100% original, but I believe were added to the jacket at some time. As it was worn in combat, there are a few small holes and snags, as you can see in the photos. Pocket for the Medical Bandage is still present. I wear a size 36R, and it fits near perfect with some layering underneath. I suspect the size is around a 38 or so, with these approx. measurements: Shoulder Seam: 16.5”; Pit to Pit: 20”; Base of Collar at Back to Hem: 25”; Pit to end of Sleeve: 18”; and Shoulder Seam to end of Sleeve 25.5”.  Would make for a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
