You are bidding on a STUNNING and TEXTBOOK example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Waffen SS EM/NCO Leather Belt! Slightly used in condition, this is the mid-war type with separate tongue.
Military belts and buckles date back hundreds of years, and were originally designed for attaching swords and daggers. Fist introduced in 1935, the Luftwaffe Belt and Buckle underwent minor modifications. In 1937, it received a new pattern eagle and then again in 1940 with a slight difference of construction. Luftwaffe personnel originally utilized brown leather, but during the war, the leather items were usually blackened.
Made of leather and steel, this 1940 pattern Leather Belt is in EXCELLENT used condition, and it retains 98% of its original finish! Some slight marks due to the age, but nothing that detracts. The tongue is complete, and fully marked, with a manufacture date of 1943, and is marked:
VA 401/43 SS
Stamped with a “105”, indicating 105cm (41″ approx.) in length. EXTREMELY difficult to find in this condition, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
