Description

You are bidding on an EXTREMELY RARE 0-750 Litre Elek. Vorrats-Anzeiger (Electrical Fuel Gauge), Fl. 20723, used ONLY in the Focke-Wulf Ta-154 series aircraft!

This is an EXCELLENT Ta-154 Fuel Gauge which dates around 1944-1945.  It was mounted on the forward instrument panel and indicated the current Fuel Capacity of the main tanks.  Total production of Ta-154 aircraft was approx. 50 aircraft.

Made of aluminum and bakelite this instrument is in AMAZING used condition and all dials work smoothly and correctly. 95% of the original paint and finish remains, and the data label is 100% complete, clearly indicating, Fl. 20723, FWTA 154.  Some scratches due to the age, however no dents or damage.  AS thre were only 50 models of the Ta-154 ever prodiced (including prototypes),it makes this gauge EXTREMEMLY rare!  This is the only one I have ever seen, and would make a SUPERB addition to any collection, panel re-build, or restoration project!

The Focke-Wulf Ta 154 Moskito was a fast two-engine German night fighter aircraft designed by Kurt Tank and produced by Focke-Wulf.  The Ta-154 was developed in response to the RAF Mosquito night fighter/bomber which were almost invulnerable (1 loss in the first 600 sorties, for example).  After much success with the design of the Fw-190, Kurt Tank designed the Ta-154. The airframe was made of wood, but unfortunately there was just one production plant for a suitable glue.  This plant was destroyed by the RAF in a bombing raid in 1944.  Another glue was used, however it was found to be weaker and caused structural damage and a loss of 10 aircraft. Tank cancelled production after 8 prototypes, until a better glue was made available. In total around 50 or so were made between July and August 1944.

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. I will describe each auction to the best of my knowledge and take as many photos necessary to ensure you are pleased upon receiving your item. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
