Description
Made of wood, this is an AMAZING piece of history! Though there are some slight marks and wear, it is VERY solid with no damage or corrosion! One small crack due to the age, but it does not detracts. Depicts the NSDAP emblem (Swastika) with a circular cut-out in the center. This original contained a clock (probably a Junghans or Kienzle), however it has been lost to time. Looks like it may have had an plaque with an inscription affixed to the front. Included is an ORIGINAL image of the US serviceman holding it. The inscription on the back indicates:
“…this picture was taken before we started on the task force with the 12th Regt.”
One of the ONLY award presentation pieces I have seen that comes with a photo depicting the serviceman holding it right after it was captured in 1945. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
