Description
The KG13 was one of the principal Luftwaffe control grips of WW2 and was used in aircraft including the Messerschmitt Me109, Focke-Wulf Fw190, and Messerschmitt Me110. In addition to the main weapons controls incorporated into the grip, an auxiliary pushbutton could be mounted externally to the side of the grip using a specially formed steel Zusatzschelle, or mounting clamp/bracket. This assembly positioned the button within easy reach of the pilot’s thumb and was used for auxiliary functions including bomb release. These external brackets are frequently missing from surviving KG13 grips, as the exposed button assemblies were easily removed, damaged, or separated from the grip after the war, making original loose examples particularly useful for completing otherwise original control grips and cockpit restorations.
Made of steel, this original Zusatzschelle is in EXCELLENT NEW OLD STOCK condition! It is 100% ORIGINAL wartime manufacture and was never installed or used. Both original mounting ears remain completely intact with NO bends, cracks, breaks, repairs, or other damage. The steel shows only some very slight surface rust and minor corrosion from long-term storage, with no serious pitting or deterioration. I have shown its location in the last images. A VERY RARE opportunity to acquire an original unused KG13 bomb-release button bracket, ideal for completing an original KG13 grip, advanced Luftwaffe cockpit restoration, or aircraft-control collection!
