Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB relic example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Wartungsklappe (Service Hatch), used on various German aircraft such as the Me109, Me110, Ju88, Ju87, Ju52 and others! This specific item came from an aircraft that was lost over Russia.
This hatch was located on various places on the fuselage and wings of the aircraft. It allowed for easy access to the weapons charging system, oxygen filler tanks, hydraulics, etc.
Made of aluminum and steel, this is in EXCELLENT relic condition. There is very little corrosion and it retains much of its original camouflage paint! There are some marks and scratches, but nothing that detracts. Features both RLM02 as well as RLM76 paint. Approx. 3.5″ x 5.5″ in diameter, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
