Description
You are bidding on a SUPERB relic example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Wartungsklappe (Service Hatch), used on various German aircraft such as the Me109, Me110, Ju88, Ju87, Ju52 and others! This specific item came from an aircraft that was lost over Russia.
This hatch was located on various places on the fuselage and wings of the aircraft. It allowed for easy access to the weapons charging system, oxygen filler tanks, hydraulics, etc.
Made of aluminum and steel, this is in EXCELLENT relic condition. There is very little corrosion and it retains much of its original camouflage paint! There are some marks and scratches, but nothing that detracts. Features a label on the top that indicates:
Druckluft
Fülldruck 150 atu
Also features a very faint aircraft serial number hand painted on the reverse, indicating, “6011R“. Indicating that this came from the right side wing, the serial number would have been assigned to a Ju52, Ju87, or Ju88. It should be easy for the winning bidder to ID the exact aircraft this came from, based on the shape and style. Approx. 5″ in diameter, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
