Description
This Control Yoke was mounted directly in-front of the pilot, and gave him complete control of the aircraft. Buttons attached were for Bomb Release (Left Button); Autopilot Control (Right Button/Switch); and Radio (Central Button). Most aircraft control grips after WW2 were based on this German design.
Made of steel, aluminum, and bakelite, this grip would have been manufactured between 1943 and 1945. It is in SUPERB used condition, and EASILY one of the best examples I have seen of this type! All buttons are complete and functional, and, it features a Model 5 Junghans Clock. Note that the clock is not currently functional. All wiring and controls are original to this grip, and are 100% FUNCTIONAL! Retains approx. 85% original paint and finish. There are some marks from normal wear and age, but no damage, breaks or bends! All hand-written electrical codes are also present. Appears it had 2 UV Lamps attached to the right side at one time. Though they are no currently present, they could be added quite easily. One of the NICEST ones I have ever seen, I have indicated it’s exact location in the last photo! Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
