Description
This Control Yoke Assembly was mounted directly in-front of the pilot, and gave him complete control of the aircraft. Buttons attached were for Bomb Release (Left Button) and Autopilot Control (Right Button/Switch). Most aircraft control grips after WW2 were based on this German design.
Made of steel, aluminum, and bakelite, this EXTREMELY RARE example would have been manufactured between 1942 and 1945. It is in SUPERB used condition, and the ONLY ONE I have seen of its type, outside of a complete aircraft. All buttons are complete and functional, and being the later variant, it features a Model 3 Junghans Clock. I am fairly sure the original clock was missing, and this one was added to fill the hole. I currently have Model 5 Junghans clock in NOS condition, that I will include for FREE, at the full buy it now price. All wiring and controls are original to this grip, and are 100% FUNCTIONAL! It definitely was re-painted during the war (was probably from a heavily used aircraft), and retains approx. 95% of the original paint and finish. There are some marks from normal wear and age, but no damage, breaks or bends! All part numbers are present, confirming it is from an He111, and the main adjustment know works perfectly! The internal mechanism that keep the yoke at the neutral position is also fully functional! Retains the original instruction/warning data label for the pilot. I have only ever seen TWO separate yokes available in the last 20 years, and the last one (in poorer condition) sold for $6500. As this is the COMPLETE assembly (with the FULL mount, not just the separate yoke), I have listed the asking price at $11999.99. EASILY one of the NICEST and MOST COMPLETE examples I have ever seen, I have indicated it’s exact location in the last photo! Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
