You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of an early war WW2 German Luftwaffe Staurohr (Pitot Tube), Fl.22296, as used on many Luftwaffe Gliders such as the DFS230, Go242, Grunau Baby, Meise, and others!
This instrument was located on the upper or lower surface of the fuselage and measured the true airspeed, sending a signal to the main instrument panel. The Speedometer then indicated to the pilot the current velocity.
Made of brass and aluminum by J.C. Eckardt A.G Stuttgart, this piece is in EXCELLENT condition and is very solid, with only a marks and scratches. Though the aircraft serial number is painted on the outside, sadly, I have no clue which glider it is from. Features a VERY NICE data plate, that is complete with the manufacture info and Fl. number. Fairly complex in design, I have never seen another one of its type. Normal scratching due to the age, but otherwise a beautiful example. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any aircraft collection, or simply as a conversation piece!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
