You are bidding on a 100% original WW2 German Luftwaffe autographed photo and letter of Herbert Ihlefeld. Unlike most of the autographs you see, this is a WARTIME signed photo and letter.
Oberst Herbert Ihlefeld (1 June 1914 – 8 August 1995) was a former German Luftwaffe fighter ace and recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Swords. He is credited with 130 aerial victories ( flying the Me109 and He162) in 1000 combat missions while serving with LG 2, JG 77, JG 52, JG 103, JG 25, JG 11, and JG 1. A tough signature to locate, this lot consists of TWO original signatures.
The first signature is on a letter that was typed in the field and dated August 19, 1941. He is responding to a fan, asking for a signed photo and autograph, which of course, he obliged. That exact signed photo is included. Both autographs are 100% original.
Would make for an EXCELLENT framed display!
