Description
You are bidding on a VERY NICE original WW2 German Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Me109 Lagerblech (Trim Wheel Mount), 109.411-29! This distinctive triangular mounting bracket formed part of the cockpit trim-wheel assembly used on the Me109 F and later variants.
As illustrated in the original Messerschmitt Me109 Ersatzteillisten, this bracket formed the structural mounting point for the Klappen- und Flossenverstellung, or flap and tail-trim control assembly, located on the left side of the cockpit. The large trim wheels and associated shafts, sprockets and chain-drive components were supported by this triangular mounting structure, allowing the pilot to operate the aircraft’s trim and flap controls from the cockpit.
Made of aluminum, this ORIGINAL example is in VERY GOOD used condition with normal age, wear and minor surface marks as shown. Though it was restored and re-painted at one time, the triangular bracket remains complete and structurally sound, with its original mounting holes and central bearing location intact. I have shown its location in the last photos. An ORIGINAL and increasingly difficult-to-find Me109 cockpit control component that would make a FANTASTIC addition to any Me109 cockpit restoration, trim-wheel assembly or advanced Luftwaffe aviation collection!
