Description
This instrument was produced around 1944 and measured the boost (manifold) pressure of the Jumo 213A-1 engine. This engine had a maximum output of 2,100 hp at speed of around 685 km/hr. The Fw190D-9 was easily the fastest single prop fighter Germany had produced and as a result, was used for quite extensively in the close support role, escorting the Me262…it was the only fighter that could match the Me262 speed. This instrument was located on the main instrument panel of the aircraft and was ONLY used in the Fw-190 D-9 and Ta-152.
Made of black bakelite, this instrument is in EXCELLENT condition. 100% of the original finish remains, however there are some slight marks and wear due to the age. The dial clearly indicates Fl. 20554, and the data label is still 100% complete! Some slight corrosion on the dial, but nothing that detracts. I have indicated its location in the last photos. A FANTASTIC addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
