Description
The Me109 employed automatic leading-edge Vorflügel, or slats, which moved forward from the wing as airspeed and aerodynamic loading changed, improving airflow over the wing at high angles of attack. Each slat was supported and guided by a mechanical linkage system incorporated within the wing. The original Messerschmitt Ersatzteil-Liste identifies these linkage arms as Koppel, within the Vorflügelgetriebe vollständig, or complete leading-edge slat operating mechanism. Working together with the Rollkoppel, bearings, guide components, and associated hardware, these Koppel arms formed part of the mechanism allowing the slat to extend outward and return smoothly into the leading edge.
Made of aircraft-grade aluminum, these TWO original Me109 Koppel Linkage Arms are in EXCEPTIONAL NEW OLD STOCK condition! One complete set is included, providing enough linkage arms for either the left or right wing slat installations (note I have TWO complete sets available). Both pieces are completely unused and retain most of their original wartime finish, with only light scratches, marks, staining, and storage residue from decades of preservation. There is NO corrosion, cracking, bending, repairs, distortion, or service wear, and all mounting and bearing openings remain clean and undamaged. No bearings or additional hardware are installed, exactly as these unused linkage arms were retained in storage prior to installation. Everything present is 100% ORIGINAL wartime German manufacture. Hard to find photos, as they are housed deep inside the wings, however, I have shown their location in the last images. An EXTREMELY RARE complete NOS set of Me109 leading-edge slat components, ideal for any advanced Luftwaffe, Messerschmitt, aircraft restoration, or flight-control collection!
