Description
This instrument measured the turn angle of the aircraft. It was connected to the main air pressure system and was located on the main instrument panel on many German aircraft.
Made of aluminum and steel, this horizon dates around 1943, and would have been used right up until the end of the war. 90% of the original finish remains, and there are no dents or damage! The data information is also intact at the reverse. 100% COMPLETE, however I am not sure if functional. The AMAZING feature is that it has hand-written tactical code indicating:
PH+ZV
II. Zg. 18.10.44
Though I am not sure if this is the installation date or removal date, the “PH+ZG” and “II. Zg.” confirms it was removed from an Me110 Destroyer Aircraft! More research can certainly be done, if one wished. I have indicated its location in the Ju88, Ju52, and Me110 in the last images. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection, restoration project, or panel re-build!
