Description
Made of steel, this item is a FANTASTIC example! Some marks and wear, but it retains most of its original paint and finish! No markings that I can see, as there is a bit of corrosion on the top. The Fragmentation Sleeve is VERY solid, however, some of the spring clips are broken (does not detract). No markings that I can see. Handle is original to the head, and matches is overall condition. bdp 43 is stamped into the handle, indicating a production year of 1943, and the maker, Friedrich Maurer Söhne, Eisenwerk und Kesselschmiede, München / Freimann. Based on the corrosion on the outside of the head, and inside of the sleeve, the sleeve appears to be original to this grenade, and not added later. Overall a VERY NICE example, PERFECT item for any collection or display!
