Description
Mounted on both the 34 and 42 Lafette Tripod, the MGZ 40 sight was allowed the shooter to have their head lower and thus less exposed when aiming through the sight Made of aluminum steel by dpw (Carl Zeiss-Ikon Goerzwerk, Berlin), this aiming scope was manufactured between 1944 and 1945. Though it has some marks, scratches, and wear, it still reains 90% of its original Dunkelgelb paint, with NO major damage or corrosion! The manufacture code and data information is stamped into the top, indicating: dpw All optics are SUPERB, and though they are a slight bit hazy, are VERY CLEAR with only slight spotting! All adjustments are FULLY functional. Eye cup is a reproduction. The box is the original to this scope, however it was re-painted and converted at some time. “MGZ40” is clearly stenciled on the top. A replacement could easily be found if one wished. I have shown its location in the last images. One of the NICEST I have ever seen of it’s type, it is a VERY NICE scope that would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
