You are bidding on a VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe 400 – 3600 U/min Elek. Doppeldrehzahlanzeiger (Electrical Dual Tachometer), Fl. 20270-1, as used ONLY in the Dornier Do335 A Fighter Aircraft!
This is the final version of this type of gauge, and is dated around 1945. It was ONLY used in the late Do335 A. It displayed the engine RPM of the both DB603 engines, and was located on the main instrument panel of the aircraft.
Made with an aluminum and bakelite housing, this instrument is in EXCELLENT used condition and all dials work smoothly and correctly. Some slight marks and wear due to the age, but there are no dents or damage! Data Label is has worn away over time, but the Fl. number can still be read. Glass rattles a bit, so the locking ring will need to be tightened down. Similar to the standard Fl. 20269, this one features two needles to indicate each engine separately. I have shown it’s location in the last photos. A PERFECT addition to any collection, restoration project, or simply for display!
