Description
Fedor von Bock was one of the most senior German Army commanders of WW2. He commanded Army Group North during the invasion of Poland in 1939, Army Group B during the campaign in France in 1940, and Army Group Centre during the opening stages of Operation Barbarossa in 1941. Von Bock is particularly associated with Operation Typhoon, the German offensive intended to capture Moscow in the autumn of 1941. He later commanded Army Group South during operations on the Eastern Front. A veteran officer of the First World War, von Bock was awarded the prestigious Pour le Mérite and later received the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross. Signed wartime photographs and postcards of von Bock remain highly desirable to collectors of German command and Eastern Front material.
Made of period printed cardstock, this postcard is in EXCELLENT used condition! There is some very slight age-related yellowing, however there are NO tears, bends, creases, or other notable damage! The front features a formal portrait of Generalfeldmarschall Fedor von Bock in uniform and bears his original wartime handwritten signature across the lower portion of the image. The printed caption “Generalfeldmarschall von BOCK” remains clearly visible along the lower edge. The reverse retains the original printed postcard formatting and remains unused. The photograph, printed caption, reverse markings, and autograph remain clear and fully legible. Everything is 100% ORIGINAL, wartime manufacture and wartime signed, making this a VERY NICE autographed portrait of one of Germany’s most important Field Marshals of WW2! PERFECT for any collection or display!
