WW2 German Luftwaffe Anschlußstück – COOLANT TEMP SENSOR MANIFOLD – Me109 – NICE

You are bidding on a NICE example of WW2 German Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Me109 Anschlußstück (Coolant-System Connection Manifold), 109.775-02! This original aircraft component formed part of the Kühlstoffanlage im Rumpf, or fuselage coolant system, and served as a principal connection point within the aircraft’s engine-cooling plumbing.

The original Messerschmitt Me109 Ersatzteil-Liste identifies this component as “Anschlußstück vollständig,” within Baugruppe 109.682, Kühlstoffanlage im Rumpf. In addition to joining the major coolant lines within the fuselage, this fitting also provided the mounting point for the coolant-temperature sender, which monitored coolant temperature and transmitted that information to the corresponding cockpit temperature indication. The original installation drawings show the fitting positioned within the forward fuselage coolant system, making it an integral component in both coolant circulation and engine-temperature monitoring.

Made of steel, this original Me109 Anschlußstück was recovered from a wreck and remains in VERY GOOD restorable condition! The fitting retains substantial traces of its original green coolant-system identification finish, now showing age-related discoloration and wear. Both major threaded connections remain complete, solid, and usable, and the threaded mounting point for the coolant-temperature sender is also present. The body has several splits and tears resulting from the original crash damage, but there is NO significant corrosion, material loss, or deterioration, and the damage appears suitable for professional welding and restoration. The original form is still clearly preserved, and the everything present is 100% ORIGINAL wartime German manufacture. I have shown its location in the last photos.
