Description
The AK39 Wrist Compass was designed for wear by pilots and crew for correctly calculating their position if forced to bail out or after a crash. Though it was designed to be worn on the wrist, it was commonly attached to various other pieces of equipment (zipper, straps, etc.).
Made of black bakelite, leather, and ersatz leather, this compass is in VERY NICE used condition! It retains 95% of the original paint and finish, with only slight marks and scratches! 100% FUNCTIONAL, it features 360 degree markings on the face, however it does turn a bit slow to get to N, when compared to my other compasses. The bottom is clearly marked, “AK39”, and the Fl. label indicates Fl. 23235. Has a small air bubble in the top, which is normal. Comes with the RARE extender strap for going over thick flight suits. Would make for a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
