You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Luftwaffe Navigator Lighted Mechanical Pencil! Issued to navigators for night flying and low-light situations, this pencil featured an internal light bulb and batteries to aid in map reading and plotting!
Manufactured around 1944, this is an EXCELLENT example! Though I normally carry the standard map case pencil of the time period, this is the VERY RARE lighted version! The first time I have had this RARER type, there are some marks and wear from storage, but otherwise perfect! 100% FUNCTIONAL, it will accept two modern AA batteries to make functional I have shown a similar one in use in the last photos. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
