Description
You are bidding on a FANTASTIC example of a 100% original WW2 German Luftwaffe Schwungkraftanlasser Hebel (Mechanical Starter Handle), as ONLY used on the Jumo 211 aircraft engines! This crank is SPECIFIC to the Ju87 “Stuka” Dive Bomber!
This mechanical starter crank handle was used to start the engine of Ju87 Stuka. The ground crew would insert it into the starter, and then crank the arm counter clockwise in order to start the engine.
Made of magnesium, aluminum, and steel, this Engine Crank Handle is of mid-war production and is in VERY NICE used condition! Though there are some slight marks, wear, and paint loss, it is 100% complete with NO damage! Some corrosion and pitting from storage, but nothing that detracts. There were a couple versions of this handle, with this type being the mid to late-war style. I have indicated its location in the last photo. Recovered off the Eastern Front, it is a SUPERB addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
