Description
The Skagerrak-Kalender series was produced as an illustrated naval reference and morale item, combining operational imagery with dates and notable naval anniversaries. The 1937 edition reflects the rapid expansion and modernization of the Kriegsmarine during the mid-1930s rearmament period. Period photographs and illustrations depict major warships, fleet activities, crew operations, and naval aviation, making this calendar a strong visual record of pre-war German naval history.
Most likely printed by the Verlag der Kriegsmarine, and made of heavy paper, this calendar is in EXCELLENT condition! Complete with the original cover page, it features 52 Images of various Battleships, Destroyers, Cruisers, U-Boats, Sea Planes, and personnel! Each image represents 1 week in the year 1937, as well as numerous images and descriptions on each page! All pages are intact, apart from the first page, which has come away. There are some slight bends, wear, and marks due to the age, but nothing that detracts Still has the original ordering card for the 1938 Calendar still attached, and features a full description of the KM Organization, Ship names, and other pertinent information for the time. Measuring approx. 7″ x 8″ in size, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
