WW2 German Kriegsmarine Lange u. Sohne – SHIP CHRONOMETER – SUPERB!

Out of stock

You are bidding on a STUNNING and VERY RARE example of a WW2 German Kriegsmarine 1944 Lange & Sohne Einheits-Chronometer!  Standardized by the Navy High Command, these were issued to be used aboard various Naval Vessels.

The Einheits Chronometer orignated from Lange and Wempe, the 2 major leaders in chronometer production of that time period.  From the end of WW2 until the late 1990’s, this standard 3 pillar chronometer was the basis for all chronometers by Wempe as well as Soviet producers.

This Lange & Sohne Chronometer is in SPECTACULAR functioning condition!  It is EASILY the nicest I have seen of it’s type, and is graded excellent to near mint.  Coming complete in the ORIGINAL MATCHING Oak Box, they are quite rare in this condition.  It is 100% original in every way, and features the matching serial numbers “5290” on both the box and case…as well as the standard Kriegsmarine Eagle over “M3056”.  This type is a detented chronometer, with a gimbaled black bakelite case, aluminum dial, and 3-pillar movement.  Note that the original bakelite gimbal has a hairline crack, so it is currently mounted in a steel gimbal.  The original bakelite gimbal will be included with the sale, if someone wished to switch it back.  Features a 56 hour power reserve.  It has recently been fully serviced, keeps FANTASTIC time, and come with a document from Lange und Sohne, indicated the original production date and purchase price. An AMAZING and 100% ORIGINAL addition to any collection or display!
