WW2 German Kriegsmarine Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-U-Boat-Jagd u. Sicherungsverbände – Minesweeper War Badge!

Out of stock

You are bidding on a SUPERB example of a 100% ORIGINAL WW2 German Kriegsmarine Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch-U-Boat-Jagd, und Sicherungsverbände (Minesweeper War Badge)!

The Minesweeper’s war badge was introduced on August 31, 1940, and issued to personnel serving on minesweepers, sub-chasers, and escort vessels. The main prerequisite was participation in three operational sorties.

Made of zinc, this badge is in VERY NICE condition.  It features a vertical oval oak leaf wreath and national eagle with outstretched wings.  The eagle clutches a swastika.  In the center is an image of an exploding water funner.  Original pin and catch are complete, however the hinge is loose, and the catch crushed downward slightly.  No manufacture markings that I can see. Though most of the original gold finish has worn off, it is still a NICE example.  Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
