Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB set of WW2 German Kriegsmarine 8×80 U-Boat & Ship Commander Binoculars!

The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 8×60, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service.  Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required strongeroptics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis.  This specific binocular was used by U-Boat crews, ships, and coastal artillery.

Made by Leitz of a large tooled alloy and aluminum construction, these 8 x 60 Rubber Armored binoculars are in AMAZING used condition!  The lens bodies retain about 95% of their original, rough textured, black finish, and both focal adjustment still function on both eye pieces!  Sadly, the upper rubber is missing, but reproductions or original replacements do come up.  The optics themselves are in PERFECT alignment, and are EXTREMELY clear, with NO spotting or haziness (haziness in the photos is due to it being hazy outside when I took the photo).  8×60 and “beh” (indicating manufacture of Ernst Leitz) are stamped on the right side.  Not to be confused with the smaller (and more common) 7×50 armored variant, this is a VERY RARE type…perfect for any collection or display!

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
