Description

You are bidding on a NICE set of WW2 German 7×50 Kriegsmarine Type II Armoured Binoculars!  Used on U-boats and other surface vessels, these were captured at the end of the war.

The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service.  Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis.  This specific binocular was used by U-Boat crews, ships, and coastal artillery.

Made of aluminum, brass, and steel by Leitz, these 7 x 50 power binoculars are in VERY GOOD used condition!  The lens bodies retain about 98% of their original, rough textured finish, however most of the paint has worn away.  Aluminum end piece fittings are 100% intact!  The focus adjustment still functions perfectly on both eye pieces and the optics are still sharp with NO spotting!  Left side is body marked 7 x 50, the 3-digit code of “beh” (indicating being manufactured by Leitz).  The rubber armour on the lenses is FULLY intact but, the other rubber parts are missing (these come up on auction).  This is the EARLIER Type II variant that had standard eye cups and eye shields (rarer than the standard Type III variant you commonly see on eBay)!  Leather strap is original to this set, with no breaks or major damage.  A VERY NICE example, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!!!

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. I will describe each auction to the best of my knowledge and take as many photos necessary to ensure you are pleased upon receiving your item. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
