Description
You are bidding on an EXCELLENT set of WW2 German Kriegsmarine 7×50 U-Boat Commander Binoculars!
The German Army and Navy used a wide variety of optical equipment, including a 6×30 (6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens), 7×50, 8×30, 10×50 and others, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis. This specific binocular was used by U-Boat crews, ships, and coastal artillery.
Made by beh (Leitz) of a large tooled alloy and aluminum construction, these 7 x 50 power binoculars are in VERY NICE used condition! The lens bodies retain all of their original, rough textured covering, with approx. 95% original paint and finish! The aluminum end piece fittings are 100% intact, with some slight scratches and marks, due to the age. The focus adjustment still functions perfectly on both eye pieces, and there are NO marks, spotting, or dust particles. The optical alignment is a bit off (collimation), but it is not too noticeable. That could be rectified by the winning bidder, if they wished. Left side is marked, “7×50 beh”, along with the serial number. Right side has the KM Adler that has been over-painted in black, but that is a very easy fix. Neck strap is original to this set, however, it does feature a break. The Rain Shield is also original and in perfect condition. I have shown this EXACT type in use in the last images. One of the NICEST I have seen in a while it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
