Description

You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE example of aWW2 German Luftwaffe Vet Pick-Up K98 Bayonet with original Frog and Scabbard!  The AMAZING features is that it is stamped with a Luftwaffe Airfield/Stores ID!

You are bidding on a VERY NICE WW2 German Vet Pick-Up K98 Bayonet.  It comes complete with the original scabbard and frog!  This was recovered from Fl.Gr. Koll. (ZA) – Fliegergruppe Kolleda Zeugamt – which being an active Luftwaffe airfield and storage depot from 1935 until 1945, had both Stab and 1/Erg. Aufklarungsgeschwader stationed there.  These units were active with the Me109, Fw190, Fw189, Ju88, Si206 and Ar96!

Made of bakelite and steel, this German K98 Bayonet is in VERY NICE condition considering it’s age.  Made in 1941 by ddl (Josua Corts und Sohn), there are some slight marks due to the age, but otherwise is in EXCELLENT condition!  The blade, though it does show some marks, stains, and wear, remains unsharpened.  The scabbard is original to this knife, but it does feature some marks and wear.  Also some marks/dents on the top edge of the handle.  The knife features dark bakelite grips, and is marked:

It also features a few Waffenamts.

The scabbard is original to this knife, and is 100% matching.  Condition matches that of the knife, with some minor marks and scratches due to the age.  It is also marked:

There is a waffenamt on the finial, but it is too small for me to make out.  Made of leather, the frog is still VERY NICE and though I cannot see a manufacture stamp, it features a PROMINENT Luftwaffe Airfield Stores stamp, indicating:

Fl.Gr. Koll. (ZA)

Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!

——————- TERMS OF SALE —————–

Most of my items are vintage, and as such are AS-IS, so you must therefore expect a degree of wear due to age and/or usage. I will describe each auction to the best of my knowledge and take as many photos necessary to ensure you are pleased upon receiving your item. All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.

——————- ABOUT ME —————–

Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
