You are bidding on an EXTREMELY RARE and 100% original WW2 German Luftwaffe Typenschild (Main Data Plate) and Änderrungsstufe (Level of Change Plate), as used on all LATE WAR Me109, Fw190, Me110, and Ju88 aircraft!
This type of plate was located on the fuselage of the fighter or bomber aircraft. It was mounted adjacent to the MAIN data plate, to indicate a level of change, or upgrade to the airframe.
Made of aluminum, this is a VERY RARE set and was found in Europe. As both are unused, there is no written information or dates (though often the “Änderrungsstufe” plates were installed blank for future changes). They are in AMAZING relic condition, with only slight marks and corrosion (nothing that detracts). Much of the original finish remains, and all data info is clearly visible. I have shown there EXACT location on the Me109 and Ju88 in the last photos. A VERY RARE and SUPERB addition to any collection, display, or restoration project!
