Description
The Weimar era belt buckle was introduced in May 1919, for wear by EM/NCO personnel serving in both the Reichsheer, (National Army), and the Reichsmarine, (National Navy), with a different colored finish for each branch of service. The buckle retained the same basic design as the Imperial German belt buckle but replaced the Imperial crown with the newly introduced national eagle. The Reichswehr era belt buckles were most commonly manufactured in solid nickel/silver although steel buckles were also produced.
Made of stamped nickel/silver alloy, this M1919 Weimar Republic EM/NCO Belt Buckle is in VERY NICE used condition! Some slight marks and wear, but nothing that detracts. Retains 95% of the original finish, and it clearly features the motto, “Gott Mit Uns” surrounding a Weimar Eagle in the center. Similar to the later version, it has a raised catch and dual prong to attach to a leather belt. Would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!
