Description
Made of a solid brass, aluminum, and steel by Emil Busch AG, Rathenow, this set of binoculars is in EXCELLENT used condition! Manufactured earlier in the war, they retain much of the original paint! The optics are still in PERFECT alignment…with NO chips on any of the prisms! The focus adjustments still function, but they are very stiff (will need lubrication). Also, the right side focus adjustment slips slightly, so it needs to be tightened a bit. Optics are AMAZINGLY clear with NO spotting or dust particles! The center features a prominent “M” indicating “Marine”, as well as the serial number, “1170”. Some paint chips and marks as you can see in the photos…as well as some scratches. The front objectives are slightly recessed, with expendable sun shields. The oculars should normally rotate inward and outward slightly, so the user can adjust for eye spacing…however they are very stiff. The winning bidder would need to lubricate these to be able to rotate. Eyecups are on the 20x oculars (one has a chip in the plastic), however the eye cups are missing from the 12x ocular side. Last image shows both the 12x and 20x view. I have shown the exact binoculars in use in the remaining photos. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display! |
