Description
During WW1, most pilots quickly realized the need for protective headgear due to the cold weather effects while in an open cockpit. As no headgear was readily available, pilots were forced to utilize commercially produced leather motorcycle and automobile helmets. Made of leather, this helmet is in VERY NICE used condition. There are no rips or tears, and the leather is still very soft and supple! All snaps, tabs, and buckles work correctly, and retain their original paint. Snaps are an early type made of brass by PRYM. All straps are fully adjustable. No manufacture labels that I can see. A SUPERB example, perfect for any collection or display!
