Description
You are bidding on an VERY RARE and 100% ORIGINAL WW1 Bavarian Army Model M1915 EM/NCO Belt and Buckle!
First introduced in 1847, the Bavarian belt buckle was used by personnel of enlisted ranking. Originally, they were produced in brass, but were changed to steel in 1914 or so. The leather was usually a brown/tan, but around 1915 a blackened version was issued.
Made of steel, this M1915 Bavarian Belt and Belt Buckle are in FANTASTIC barn-find condition! Though the buckle features some corrosion from storage, it clearly features the motto of the Kingdom of Bavaria, “In Treue Fest” surrounding a crown in the center. Similar to the WW2 version, it has a raised catch and dual prong to attach to the leather belt. Approx. 45mm wide.
