You are bidding on a VERY NICE used example of a WW2 US Army M1938 Leather Rifle Jeep  / Cavalry Scabbard for the M1 Garand Rifle!  It was also used in conjunction with the M1917 Enfield, M1903 Springfield, and M1941 Johnson.

Made of leather and brass in 1940 by J.Q.M.D. (Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depot), this leather scabbard is in GOOD condition considering it’s age.  There are some slight marks and wear due to the age, but otherwise is SUPERB!  No cracking on the leather,  and the stitching is quite solid.  Missing the 2 retaining straps, but those can be added.  Originally designed for cavalry, this was attached to jeeps in order to store/carry the M1 Garand and other variants (see last photo for reference).  A PERFECT item for any collection or display!
