Description
You are bidding on a SUPER RARE 100% original WW2 Soviet VVS Aircraft Green Fabric Skin! Recovered by a German Aircraft Mechanic who served on the Eastern Front, this was cut from an aircraft on a captured airfield. It originates from the Vertical Stabilizer of an I-15, I-153, MiG3, or similar early aircraft!
Made of lightweight fabric, this section is in AMAZING condition, and 95% of the ORIGINAL green camouflage paint remains! Original WW2 aircraft fabric is EXTREMELY rare as it usually burned up or rotted away over time. Measuring approx. 17″ x 26″ in size, there are some slight wear, tears, and marks, due to the age. Dating around 1941, this was removed from the aircraft in the early stages of Operation Barbarossa, when the Germans overran numerous Soviet Airfields. I have shown similar examples in the last images. A SUPERB piece of history, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display! Please note that the shipping cost listed is based on the fabric being ROLLED. Due to the fragility of the fabric, the winning bidder may want to have it sent flat, which would be an additional expense. |
