Description
This instrument measured the current airspeed. It was usually mounted outside the aircraft (such as on a wing or strut). It could also be used hand-held by attaching the handle at the bottom. Made of brass and aluminum, this piece is of mid-war manufacture. It still retains 95% of its original finish, and clearly stating the model, manufacture, and production number! This gauge indicates speed from 0 to 50 knots, and is therefore a Navy item. No damage or corrosion, and is 100% functional (though I do not know how accurate)! It has the original screw on handle, and comes complete in the original box! The box still features its RARE leather carrying strap! Data plate indicates, “Anemometer Modification 1; December 1941”, and the box still retains it’s original internal table/chart. Brought back by a US veteran at wars end. Like most Japanese instruments, this gauge is VERY rare and would be a PERFECT addition to any Japanese Instrument Collection!

All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase. ——————- ABOUT ME —————– Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft. ——————- COPYRIGHT —————– |
