Description
Made of a solid brass, aluminum, and steel by Toko, this set of binoculars is in EXCELLENT used condition! Dated 1944, they retain 95% of the original paint and finish! The optics are still in PERFECT alignment…and CRYSTAL CLEAR, with only very minor dust particles internally! Also features a ranging scale. As the grease/wax has hardened over time, the focus adjustments are currently stiff. The would need to be heated up (hair dryer or similar) to soften the grease/wax, but I will leave that to the winning bidder. Sadly, the data plate was removed, but all the manufacture info is listed on the interior of the crate. Some paint chips and marks as you can see in the photos…as well as some scratches. The 80mm front objectives are slightly recessed. The oculars rotate inward and outward slightly, so the user can adjust for eye spacing. Sadly, the rubber eye cups deteriorated over time (common), so they are not present with this set. The AMAZING feature is that it still retains the original mounting stand/yoke as well as the original Azimuth Wheel! Also included are the original lens filters and multi-tool screwdriver. Azimuth wheel features a manufacture logo. The original wood crate is VERY SOLID, but does feature some slight water damage on the very bottom (does not detract). Due to the large weight and size, I have had to estimate the shipping costs. I will provide a more accurate cost to the winning bidder (dependent on shipping location). It would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
