Description
Made of wood and steel, this Japanese Type 30 Bayonet is in EXCELLENT used condition! Dating around 1943-1945, there is some very slight marks and wear, but nothing that detracts. Both the blade and scabbard retain MUCH of their original finish! Features a VERY CLEAR Tokyo/Kokura Arsenal stamp. Eugene Samuel McGill served on the USS Iowa, and inscribed his campaign service on the scabbard. The inscriptions indicate:
USS Iowa
February 18, 1944
Tokyo Bay, Japan
Saipan
Okinawa
Philippines
Marshall
Caroline
Manus Island
Guam
Rata
Tinian
Truk
Tokyo, Japan
A VERY unique piece of history, it would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
