Description
The Type 38 rifle Arisaka was a bolt-action rifle that supplemented the Type 99 Japanese standard infantry rifle during the Second World War. The design was adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army in 1905 (the 38th year of the Meiji period, hence “Type 38”) and served from then until the end of 1945.
Made of rubberized canvas with brass fittings, this Arisaka 6.5 x 50mm Ammo Pouch Set is in AMAZING unused condition! With a dual compartment, this was designed to carry THREE 5 round clips of 6.5mm ammunition in each. There are some slight marks and wear as you can see in the photos, however it is EASILY the best set I have seen! These are a MATCHING set with corresponding ink stamps on the interior of the main flaps. Sadly, the rubberized canvas has completely hardened over time, so there is no flexibility (they are quite hard). The rubber CAN be softened, but I will leave that to the winning bidder to rectify. Would be a PERFECT addition to any collection or simply for display!
