Description
Pilots and flight personnel used this device to accurately plot the flight bath to their destination. It would aid in the calculation of time, speed, distance, airspeed, pressures, densities and temperature. Carried without the cockpit, this was the produced between 1941 and 1945. Resembling a hand-held fan or ping pong paddle, these computers were considered to be somewhat heavy, considering they were designed for use in an aircraft. When not in use, thy could be suspended by a hook and chain. Made of a lightweight aluminum between 1944 and 1945, this paddle style flight computer is in NICE used condition! It could properly calculate Time, Speed, Distance, and Altitude Pressure/Density. Some marks, scratches and wear…and also some cracking to the plexi…but otherwise solid. Missing one of the tightening knobs at the bottom, but it is otherwise complete! Produced later in the war, it features a wood handle, as opposed to aluminum. Like most Japanese items is an VERY RARE, PERFECT for any collection or display! Please email me if you need additional photos or information. ——————- PAYMENT —————– Payment should be made within 7 business days at the end of the auction unless buyer contacts me for other arrangements.
