A hachimaki (“helmet-scarf”) is a Japanese headband, usually made of red or white cloth, typically featuring a design of kanji at the front. They are worn as a symbol of effort or courage by the wearer, especially by those in the military, or to simply keep sweat off of one’s face. The origin of the hachimaki is uncertain. The most common theory states that they originated as headbands worn by samurai, worn underneath armour to stop cuts from their helmets and to make wearing their helmets more comfortable.
Made of a lightweight cotton/linen, this headband is in VERY GOOD used condition. It features some wear, staining, holes, and color fading/discoloration due to the age, but is in otherwise in EXCELLENT condition! It has been painted by hand, and as such does feature some paint bleeding into the material. Measures approx 6″ x 40″ in size, it would make a PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

All sales are final, so please make sure your questions are answered to your satisfaction before you purchase.
——————- ABOUT ME —————–
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
