|You are bidding on a SUPERB and EXTRAORDINARILY RARE example of an Imperial Japanese Army “Big Eye” 15×80, 4° Trench Binoculars/Range Finder! This “periscope” style was used throughout the war by Battery Commanders.
Made of solid brass, aluminum, and steel, this periscope is in EXCELLENT used condition! It retains 95% of the original paint and finish, and all optics work 100%! There are a couple of small spots and dust particles on the lenses, but they do not interfere with the optics…otherwise VERY CLEAR, with no chips or cracks! Also has both a vertical and horizontal reticle/gradient scale that ranges 0-20. The focus adjustment are very stiff, as the wax has hardened over time. The winning bidding will need to heat up the eyepieces and lubricate the adju.tments for them to function correctly (should be quite easy). The manufacture information is clearly legible, including the manufacture “Toko”. Has various knobs for adjustment and fine tuning. There is one tube on the right eyepiece, which I assume is for adding a light for night use. It features a small bubble tube and mirror in the centre, and is designed to rotate on it’s axis 360 degrees. One of the LARGEST Periscopes Japanese periscopes I have owned, they measure approx. 9″ wide and 27″ tall. Weight is just under 30 lbs. A PERFECT addition to any collection or display!

——————- ABOUT ME —————–
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft.
