WW II Imperial Japanese Army – ARTILLERY CLINOMETER / GUNNER QUADRANT – BOXED!

You are bidding on a SUPERB and BOXED example of a WW2 Imperial Japanese Army Artillery Field Clinometer, as used by various cannon and artillery units! 

The Japanese Clinometer was used to raise the barrels of heavy artillery guns to the right inclination to hit the target.  When used for ranging it would be set to the required quadrant elevation then fastened to the gun muzzle which was then raised. The setting of the elevation or the reading of the inclination was very accurate as this was a very long scale round the moving barrel.  Based on the British design, this type originated in WW1 and were used right up until the end of WW2.

Made of brass, aluminum, and steel by this Artillery Clinometer is in SUPERB used condition!  There is NO damage or corrosion, and is still 100% functional!  It comes complete in the original case, and both spirit levels are free from cracks, and still retain the original bubble!  Features some hand-inscribed Kanji Markings on the side, as well as on the front of the box.  Data plate in intact, and indicates a  production date of March 1941.  Would make a PERFECT item for any collection or display!Please email me if you need additional photos or information.
