You are bidding on a SUPERB and VERY RARE used example of a WW2 German Kriegsmarine Kieninger & Obergfell 8-day Navy Clock, as used in many Navy Ships, U-Boats, and Command Centers!
Made of brass, aluminum, and steel, this K & O Ship’s Clock was produced between 1939 and 1942. It is a EXCELLENT example and retains its original brass finish and field applied black paint! A couple of dents and marks (normal due to the age), however it is still VERY SOLID! Both the serial number and all markings are intact, including the full KM Adler. The movement is 100% INCTACT and FUNCTIONAL…however…it needs a cleaning and lubrication in order for it to work correctly (it currently starts and stop). This type of clock is shown on page 182/183 of Konrad Knirim’s Military Timepieces Book. Comes with the locking/winding key. I have shown a similar one in use on the Prinz Eugen in the last photo. Unlike all the fake clocks that are on eBay coming out of Russia and the Ukraine, this is an UNTOUCHED original! An EXTREMELY RARE piece of history, it would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
