Description
As bayonets were typically long and heavy, some soldiers ended up privately purchasing various styles of hunting knives. Throughout WW2, numerous manufactures produced these types of knives, available for both private purchase and military issue.
Made of wood and steel, this late-war German Combat Fighting Knife is in SUPERB condition considering its age. The blade does show some marks, stains, and wear, as well as some obvious sharpening Features a nice”S” code inspection stamp on one side. The scabbard is original to this knife, but it does feature some marks and wear. Also, the central clip is missing. Some slight paint loss, but nothing that detracts. One small section of wood is missing at the rear of the handle, but it does not affect the function. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
